Every working day your refuse collector picks up between 7,000 to 11,000 kg of waste which is the equivalent of 10 sub-compact carts. Please help to make the job safer and a little easier. Each bag or can should be no more than 20 kg (44 Lbs). You should be able to carry each bag with one hand. Each bundle of brush or tree trimmings should also be no more than this limit, securely tied, and no longer than 1.2 m (4 ft). To prevent litter, make sure all loose materials like grass cuttings, light plastic, and bits of paper are disposed of in bags. Double-bag vacuum cleaner dust, sawdust, pet feces, and kitty litter. Contents of the can should come out easily. Please avoid stuffing cans with loose grass, leaves or brush. You should be able to close the lid of your cart when it is filled. Please keep your waste collection site clean and tidy year-round.

If you’re unsure of what can be recycled or thrown in your garbage cart, please contact Prairie Disposal Ltd at 780-539-5950. We offer other services that can help you dispose of any of the above-mentioned items.
Every working day your refuse collector picks up between 7,000 to 11,000 kg of waste, the equivalent of 10 sub-compact carts. Please ensure all broken glass, nails, sheets, metal scraps, and other sharps are safely packaged in puncture-proof containers and marked as such.
If your garbage is not collected by 5:00 pm on your collection day and you did not receive a notice (a sticker affixed to either your cart or your extra bags) please contact our office at 780-539-5950 or email us at dispatch@prairiedisposal.com.
Fairview Municipal District
Garbage is collected weekly on Wednesday including statutory holidays, except for December 25 and January 1, unless notified by Prairie Disposal Ltd. Please have your garbage at the curb by 7:00 AM or you risk missing collection. Please do not assume your garbage will be collected at the same time every week. Unforeseen circumstances can delay or speed up collection.
Yes, each resident is provided one 64-gallon container. Lids should be able to close securely to avoid debris spilling during the tipping of your cart. Extra bags will be collected, provided a “Bag Tag” has been purchased and is affixed to the extra bags. Extra bags must weigh no more than 20 kg (44 Lbs) and must be no larger than 2 ft. x 3 ft. so there is no risk of injury to your collector.
