Grande Prairie Yard Waste CollectionThis program is seasonal and runs from April 1 through to the second week in November each year. Yard waste includes leaves, grass, plants, weeds, flowers, and small tree and shrub trimmings. Yard waste is collected weekly at the curb on our regular garbage day and is collected in the same truck that services your garbage cart. Your yard waste bags must be placed 1-meter from your garbage cart to ensure the safe operation of the truck. Yard waste must be placed in clear transparent bags only. This is for the recycle truck and garbage truck to easily identify the difference between yard waste and recycling (blue bags). Bags cannot contain garbage, branches or animal waste. Bags must weigh less than 20 kg (44 lbs). Bags must be free from rips and tears. Bags must be placed at the curb by 7:00 am on your regular garbage day. There is no limit to the number of bags that can be placed at the curb. Tree or shrub clippings must be tied into a bundle, can be no longer than 1-meter (3.3 ft), and have a maximum height and width of 0.5 meters (1.7 ft).
